Chief Executive Officer, Packaging Council of Australia

Gavin Williams was appointed CEO of the Packaging Council of Australia (PCA) in February 1993. Prior to this, he was a member of the Australian Diplomatic Service from 1972-87 with postings in Singapore, Egypt and Indonesia. He holds a B.Economics (Hons) degree from the University of WA.

Since his appointment to the PCA he has been closely involved in negotiations with Government officials at both the Commonwealth and State level on environmental issues concerning packaging. He is a member of the Covenant Council, the governing body of the National Packaging Covenant. The PCA conducts a number of national Awards for packaging excellence for both students and industry. The PCA is also active in the area of packaging standards.
