DESCRIPTION: Julie Roberts is the National Health, Safety & Environment Coach for OfficeMax.

In 2007 Julie and E-Commerce managed through a shared personal interest to achieve Landcare's EnviroMark Gold Status for 3 of OfficeMax's distributions centres.

Julie subsequently took sole responsibility for the Sustainability programme.

Whilst Julie's focus is on environmental impacts, her role involves gaining participation and engagement with employees. All OfficeMax employees were introduced to daily fun activities to create awareness and get people thinking about the environment and their own impact.

Julie encourages individual departments to develop their own awareness strategies which are consistent with the overall company strategies.

Julie has developed her role to be consultative and collaborative with 27 volunteers to champion and drive the message and plans into the business.

She has developed a comprehensive Environmental Management System and launched this at the company's first environmental conference.

Julie is more than just passionate in her own role she develops relationships by being inspiring and supportive to her champions and ensuring that they have fun within their own roles.
