  WINNER

WINNER: COCA-COLA AMATIL (NZ) LTD

FOR: CHRISTCHURCH CARBONATED SOFT DRINK MANUFACTURING PLANT & PUTARURU WATER PLANT

DESCRIPTION: Coca-Cola Amatil introduced a waste minimisation stretch target of 99% for each of its five manufacturing plants in NZ - the previous target was 80%.

These two plants have achieved 99.2% and 99.4%.

This impressive result was achieved through a concerted team effort which focused on innovative yet simple solution supported by a company culture founded on corporate social responsibility.

Great importance is placed on the value of monitoring, measuring and publicly reporting on waste, water and energy target setting and usage.

These metrics are measured monthly and annually and the information is used to develop company strategic business plans and guide local investment.

The company has just completed its first carbon footprint and is currently in the process of setting targets which the company plans to report on in its annual sustainability report.
