PACKAGING COUNCIL APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Paul Curtis has been appointed Executive Director of the Packaging Council of New Zealand (Inc) commencing January 2006 after spending two years with the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) managing their Auckland office. Prior to moving to New Zealand from the UK, Paul spent nine years in regulatory affairs within the fast moving consumer goods industry, having worked for Rentokil Initial, Reckitt Benckiser and latterly SC Johnson where he was their European Regulatory Affairs and Registrations Manager. A key focus for the Council for the 2006 year is to extend the influence of the Council on packaging issues in general, with particular attention to the commitments made for Year Two of the Accord. |
The Executive of the Council is very grateful for the work undertaken by Deb Statham in acting in the senior role prior to Paul’s appointment. Deb will resume her work as Marketing Manager for the Council.
John Webber continues in his role as Government Relations and is currently assisting the Glass Group in its development of resolutions resulting from changes in glass recovery.
