PAC NZ member Woolcool has achieved an impressive “hat trick” at the World Packaging Organisation (WPO)’s 2018 WorldStar Awards by being announced as three time award winners for their innovative insulated packaging solutions made from waste wool.
Woolcool was successful in winning the categories for Food, Transit and Packaging Materials & Components. The company is waiting to find out in January if they will also take out the Sustainability and Save Food categories.
Woolcool is made of 100% sheep's wool, a renewable resource that is biodegradable, sustainable, natural and compostable. Their products have also been scientifically proven to outperform other options currently on the market for thermal performance.
The company only launched operations in New Zealand in October 2017 and have enjoyed much interest, success and support from local Kiwi businesses.
The WorldStar Awards will be presented in Australia on 2 May 2018, at a gala dinner taking place during the AIP National Conference at Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, where the region's PIDA awards will also be presented.
Woolcool qualified for entry into the WorldStar because they were winners of the 2017 Australia and New Zealand PIDA Awards.
